BAND OVERVIEW


SoulCity has brought the joy and intensity of the R&B nightclub experience to packed dance floors all over New England and beyond for over twenty years. SoulCity's performance combines breathtaking four-part vocals, the power and precision of a top-notch four-piece rhythm section, and the rich sound of the renowned Soul City Horns. Together they bridge the gap between band and audience to deliver a performance that will be talked about for years to come.



BAND BIOS


Amanda Brigham -- VOCALS
Amanda, a New Orleans native, started in musical theater at 9, and has been performing ever since in classical ensembles, gospel choirs, dance troupes and shows. She is classically trained with extensive contemporary experience gained from her years at the Berklee College of Music where she graduated this past May. She just returned from a music industry internship in Los Angeles.

Mackenzie Green -- VOCALS
Mackenzie was born and raised in Warrenton, VA. He began singing with his church choir and branched out to explore other musical avenues. After high school, he went on to study vocal, world and experimental music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. With his phenomenal voice, Mackenzie has been able to move audiences in all musical settings.

Pat Wallace -- BASS & VOCALS
Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Pat has guided the fortunes of Soul City as Manager for the past fifteen years, now joining in on bass guitar as well. He has played Rock, R&B, Country, Blues and more all over the northeast United States for over thirty years, and has performed with members Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, local Boston-area legend Robin Lane, The Monkees, Joe Cocker, and Tina Turner among others.

Dan Snape -- KEYBOARDS & VOCALS
Dan comes from Manchester England, where he started performing at age 8. As a teen he won a national award for young jazz musicians in '94 and '95. His degree in Jazz Performance from Leeds College led to a scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Dan has also toured as the keyboardist/musical director of the Blues Brothers Official European Band, and played with Lewis Nash and Tim Garland (Chick Corea).

Jim Clark -- TRUMPET
James, a New Hampshire native, has been playing trumpet since age 10 and bass since 16.  He works as a freelance performer and teacher of both classical and contemporary music around New England and has performed with such artists as Clark Terry, Wayne Bergeron, James Moody, and many others.


Chris Gagne -- TROMBONE
Chris Gagne has received degrees from Berklee College of Music (where he was on full scholarship) and the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied jazz performance and composition. Chris has been very active performing around Boston over the past few years and has performed and/or recorded with the likes of Joe Lovano, Kevin Mahogany, George Garzonne, Bob Brookmeyer, Slide Hampton, Michel Camilo, and Michelle N'Degeocello.

Jason Miele -- BARITONE SAXOPHONE
Jason comes to us from Danvers Ma., where he started playing the Alto saxophone at age 10, and tackled the Baritone sax at 12. He studied jazz at the New School University in New York City, performing and studying with artists such as Chico Hamilton and Gary Smulyan. He then gained a full scholarship to Berklee College in Boston, where he studied with Dino Govoni and Geroge Garzone.

Anna Hoffman -- ALTO SAXOPHONE
Born and raised in Munich, Germany Anna Hoffmann has been playing the saxophone for 15 years. She graduated from Berklee College Of Music in Boston with a B.A. in Performance and Jazz Composition, followed by a Masters Degree in Jazz Composition from the New England Conservatory. She is currently involved as a composer for the B.M.I. Jazz Composer’s Workshop in NYC. Anna writes and arranges original music, performing with her own Octet and Big Band in the Boston area.

Corey Sanchez -- GUITAR
A Providence native, Corey discovered the saxophone at age 11 and the guitar at age 12. He has performed on both instruments steadily all throughout high school and now attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He possess a gifted ear and has a knack for finding the right groove for any soul situation.

Vancil Cooper -- DRUMS
Playing since age 3, Vancil has received several outstanding musicianship awards from various jazz festivals, as well as several civic accolades. Currently attending Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, he has worked with George Russell Jr., GMWA Boston Chapter Choir, Justin DiCioccio, Rodney Whittaker, Wynton Marsalis, Tiger Okoshi, Dino Govoni, Dave Fiuczynski, Berklee City Music All-Stars, Vivian Male, Elan Trotman, Walter Beasley, Lisa McClendon, Lalah Hathaway, and Paula Cole.
